Hey All.
I have a new release of Lighty2Go ready for download version 1.3. The new version brings with it a new Start-Lighty2Go.exe file that is very slick! (Thanks Tobbe)
And then there is an update for the new version of phpMyAdmin 2.11.4.
So as always give it a run and let me know if you encounter any problems or errors.
Lighty2Go v1.3 is available here.

Lighty2Go has a new release out that has a lot of good news.
Starting off with one of the coolest new features, Lighty2Go should now work if extracted to any location. Thanks to the efforts of Tobbe from the forum L2G should run without issue from just about any path you extract it to.
The next item that was addressed the known issue some of us had seen if you tried to run L2G and CygWin was installed on the PC this item was also commented on here. After doing some testing with some different versions of the cygwin dll’s I believe that I have found one that works fine for both getting LightTPD to run and does not require any umount commands to be issued to your CygWin environment.
Anyone that can test this and report success OR failure that would be great.
And last but not least are the packages that were updated for v1.2:
- MySQL 5.0.50 Updated
- PHP 5.2.5 Updated
- OpenSSL 0.9.8g Updated
- phpMyAdmin 2.11.2.2 Updated
So that’s all the news for now - Go grab a copy of v1.2 and give it a run.
Test things like the any path fix and the CygWin fix and let me know what you see in your environments.
Version 1.2 is available here.

So with the help and some ideas from Tobbe over in the forum I have made a few changes to Lighty2Go and released version 1.1. **Thanks Tobbe**
No major changes, but a couple things were fixed/tweaked. The forum user was able to find the switches needed to get the TrayTool to leave the system tray after running the shutdown so it is gone as soon as the servers are stopped and the files are deleted. This is a very nice addition I love it. I also made the first file to kick off Lighty2Go an .exe file and updated some of the directions in the README file. I think this makes L2G a little more user friendly, let me know what you think.
Version 1.1 is available here.

So in the interest in trying to keep Lighty2Go progressing and addressing problems/issues that people may have I have set-up some forums that can be used for discussion.
You can get to the forums from either the tab at the top of the page or from the link in the “Downloads & Info” section on the top right of the page.
Thanks
–Tom
