Running Start-Lighty2Go.exe from Windows Explorer
FYI. If you run Start-Lighty2Go.exe from Windows Explorer (by right clicking), you need to "Run As Administrator" or you will get (at least I did)
Quote:Starting LightTPD...I opted to "Add to Quick Launch". Starting Start-Lighty2Go.exe from the task bar Quick Lauch was problem free. |

RE: Running Start-Lighty2Go.exe from Windows Explorer
Do you have UAC turned on on your Vista install?
There shouldn't be any reason to run as administrator - but I'll check it out. And can you re-verify which file it is that is causing the error? You mention Start-Lighty2Go.exe but that file should only put the 'traytool' in your system tray. The error you quoted deals with actually starting LightTPD... Are you actually seeing the error after selecting one of the choices from the traytool? Or actually seeing it on the launch of Start-Lighty2Go.exe? Thanks --Tom |

Anyway I started from scratch. Made sure I had UAC turned on. I am not getting the error I first posted about. However, I did find that LightTPD won't start if I Skype is running. I get (in a command line window that opens when I start LightTPD from Lighty2Go Tray) this: Code: Starting LightTPD... |

RE: Running Start-Lighty2Go.exe from Windows Explorer
Good glad to hear things are OK now --
The error you are seeing now just means that Skype is already using (binding to) port 80 so when you try to start Lighty it can't use (bind to) port 80 because it is already is use. There are 3 options: 1 - Don't use Skype and Lighty2Go at the same time 2 - Change the port that LightTPD will use 3 - Change the port(s) that Skype will use --Tom |
