Lighty2Go Forums are up.

So in the interest in trying to keep Lighty2Go progressing and addressing problems/issues that people may have I have set-up some forums that can be used for discussion.
You can get to the forums from either the tab at the top of the page or from the link in the “Downloads & Info” section on the top right of the page.

Thanks

Where did the WLMP Project go?

Does anyone know where the good people of the WLMP Project went?
I have several links on this site to them as there great work on porting LightTPD to windows has been a major part of getting Lighty2Go going.
I dropped by their site about a week ago and they were doing a re-vamp of the site and things were looking great with the new design. Then I went to see them just a few days ago to see how the site was coming along and I got an error when trying to get there. My first thought was “Ooops someone made a typo or something during the re-design (hey we’ve all been there right?) and they will notice it and be back up shortly.” Well unfortunately that did not appear to be the case. After repeated visits to their site it never seemed to go back on-line. I have done some Google searches to see if that turned up any info on maybe a new URL or something but so far I have not seen anything.
So if anyone knows anything or has any info on where those guys went please drop a comment. I hope this is just a temporary thing and that we will be seeing the WLMP Project back up very soon.

We finally made it. Version 1.0 is ready!

Well after many 0.x releases Lighty2Go has finally matured to a 1.0 release.
That’s right I said version 1.0!
Thanks to everyone who has stopped by the site, tried & tested Lighty2Go, made comments, and given suggestions. All of these things have been greatly appreciated and have really contributed to making Lighty2Go a fun project.
Version 1.0 comes with some new wording in the README, some cleaned-up .bat files and a couple new treats in the traytool.
So take it for a spin and let me know how it goes.

Version 1.0 is available here.

Back to basics with version 0.9

So… thanks to some input by a commenter named Andrew and the fact that his PC didn’t want to run one of the commands in Lighty2Go, the change.com function/command has been removed and Lighty2Go is now back to a set-up that is more like the first 2 releases that didn’t contain change.com.
Version 0.9 has had; the .bat files, some .conf files and the directory structure tweaked (a bit) so that change.com is not needed anymore.
Thanks again Andrew.

Version 0.9 is available here.

How about a tray tool for version 0.8?

So version 0.8 of Lighty2Go is ready and with this release (and all releases after this) I have added a system traytool, based on the Aestan System Traytool to use for managing Lighty2Go.

traytool.jpg

After running the set-path batch file in version 0.8 you will now have a system tray tool that can assist you with the Lighty2Go actions.
And for those ‘purist’s’ out there, if you don’t want to use the tray tool, you can close the tray tool and continue to use the manual operation.

So give me some feedback and let me know if you like the tool and/or if there are any other options/functions you would like to see it have added or removed.

Version 0.8 is available here.

Version 0.7 Available

Following the release of LightTPD 1.4.18 and WLMP’s port to Windows version 0.7 of Lighty2Go has been updated to Lighty 1.4.18 and is ready to be downloaded.

Version 0.7 is available here.
