So… thanks to some input by a commenter named Andrew and the fact that his PC didn’t want to run one of the commands in Lighty2Go, the change.com function/command has been removed and Lighty2Go is now back to a set-up that is more like the first 2 releases that didn’t contain change.com.
Version 0.9 has had; the .bat files, some .conf files and the directory structure tweaked (a bit) so that change.com is not needed anymore.
Thanks again Andrew.
Version 0.9 is available here.

So version 0.8 of Lighty2Go is ready and with this release (and all releases after this) I have added a system traytool, based on the Aestan System Traytool to use for managing Lighty2Go.

After running the set-path batch file in version 0.8 you will now have a system tray tool that can assist you with the Lighty2Go actions.
And for those ‘purist’s’ out there, if you don’t want to use the tray tool, you can close the tray tool and continue to use the manual operation.
So give me some feedback and let me know if you like the tool and/or if there are any other options/functions you would like to see it have added or removed.
Version 0.8 is available here.

This one is for our our commenter “Lighty2K”. He wanted to know if the my.ini file for MySQL could be tweaked to bring the memory footprint of the MySQL process down. So I did some tweaking and testing and have been able to get a config that consistently runs at about half a meg higher than the Lighty process. Lighty kicks off at just over 3 megs and now MySQL kicks off at about 3 and a half megs.
Version 0.6 is available here.

OK folks another quick release v0.5. Nothing much changed here except for going back to using PsTools to check and stop the servers.
Using these tools makes Light2Go Windows 2000 compatible.
Version 0.5 is available here.

Thanks to some comments and internet searching by a visitor named “Lighty2K” Lighty2Go starting with v0.5 and higher have been re-packaged with the respective PsTools for checking and stopping the server processes. By using (older versions of) these tools again this corrects the issue of incompatible commands that didn’t work with Windows 2000.
So big thanks to visitor “Lighty2K” for bringing the issue to my attention and for scouring the net to find the ‘good old’ versions of the PsTools.
